Lars Mikkelsen3-765x1024At age 27, he enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark from which he was graduated in the year 1995. Apart from his performance in the drama series The Killing, he also appeared in Borgen III, a Danish drama series. He played the role of Charles Augustus Magnussen, a blackmailer, in a scene of BBC Drama Sherlock. He played the president of Russia in House of Cards, an American television show. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 to honor his role in the Danish TV drama Herrens Veje. This series was broadcast in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in the year 2019. He claimed that his brother and he initially learned English by listening to and studying the Monty Python songs.
