Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, the Canadian-American musician and singer. She has released more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music is classified as alternative rock and folk. But, they contain influences from jazz hip hop punk, and funk. She is widely considered to be a feminist icon. Grammy winner Ani DiFranco was the founder of the DIY movement being one of the pioneers of artists who started her own record label in the year 1990. DiFranco was born on September 23, 1970 in the city of Buffalo in New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who had the pleasure of meeting Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
